Let’s meet Vicki!

Although she has had very limited formal dance training, Vicki’s exposure to dance transcends many years. Having taken ballet lessons as a child, Vicki exposed her children to dance beginning at the age of four. Since then, they have been involved in dance recitals and theatre productions both in school and in the community, and Vicki has taken an active role in their involvement.

Vicki also performed in various community theatre productions, herself, as an actress, dancer, choreographer and assistant director. She currently performs with The Fiesta Dance Company, a show group

comprised of middle-aged men and women who perform various routines and choreographed numbers for festivals, private parties and a local restaurant. Prior to her involvement with Fiesta, Vicki also performed with The Command Performers.

She is now a “regular” at The Quake on Tuesday and Sunday evenings and can be found “de-stressing” from her profession as a psychotherapist by attending local dance spots onFriday and Saturday evenings as well. Vicki thoroughly enjoys attending USABDA events and also frequently goes to Arbor Hall in Dayton for more ballroom dancing. Not only does dancing prove to be a welcomed distraction from her emotionally-laden occupation, but she finds it an excellent form of exercise! Vicki hopes to be able to tap into the psychological aspects of “dance therapy” by addressing interpersonal topics in her column as well as simply highlighting monthly dances.
